Let me start by wishing you Merry Christmas. As this issue goes on sale on Christmas Eve, and those good boys and girls on Santa’s nice list (aka, the Fast Ford subscription list) may be lucky enough to get their copy even earlier, then I hope you have a fantastic day of festive fun! If you haven’t picked up your copy until after the big day, then you’ll have to settle for my second set of wishes, and that is wishing you all a very happy New Year! Let’s face it, 2021 can’t be any worse than 2020 was, and I for one am ready to draw a line under this year and I’m already looking forward to the next one. But when you look back, 2020 did have its positives – the…

what are you looking forward to in 2021?

“Getting out to some shows, definitely. I keep promising myself I’ll do more with the RS too, so I’m hoping to do a few track days, road trips, and driving events in 2021. Plus, if funds allow, I hear there’s some exciting upgrades for the Mk3 RS on the way too.” JAMIE, EDITOR “There are so many things I can’t wait for; going to shows, gigs, not wearing a mask, etc. But maybe most importantly, doing a huge rolling burnout in my Cossie!” ADE, PHOTOGRAPHER “I am looking forward to meeting up with some mates to grab some brekkie on a Sunday morning and then just going out for a drive. Obviously, I’m looking forward to some Euro road trips as well.” JASON, PHOTOGRAPHER “Other than winning the lottery? Getting my Sierra back on the road,…

civic  unrest

The struggle between good and evil has kept mankind variously on its toes, on the edge of its seat, and otherwise precariously positioned since the genesis of the species. Vice versus virtue; it’s a hard balance to strike if you’re walking between the two. And if you’ve set up camp on either side, it’s not easy to swap teams. A fact of life as old as time itself, the universe’s yin needs its yang; for every good egg, there needs to be a bad guy to keep everything in balance. Sherlock Holmes had his Professor Moriarty, the Montagues had the Capulets, Brad Pitt had Kevin Spacey (in the movie Se7en, that is. Presumably not in real life, but who knows?). There’s a natural symbiosis to all of this. We need miscreants…

fast ford car of the year ★ 2020 ★ winner

Wow! That was a close one! After four weeks of intense voting, the Fast Ford Car of the Year 2020 competition has a winner. But before we tell you who has won the coveted accolade, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone that took the time to vote, and a massive congratulations to the owners of those cars that made it on to the short-list; 2020 has been a dodgy year for a number of reasons, but at least we can look back at say that we have been lucky enough to feature some truly fantastic Fords! But of course, we asked you to vote for your favourite, and vote you did. This year has been the closest in recent memory; just 11 votes separated the top two…
