When Taiwanese jewellery artist Cindy Chao’s work was unveiled at the prestigious Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris for the first time in September, she was praised for her “new vision” by the organiser. Describing her pieces as “exquisite and extraordinary art jewels,” Dominique Chevalier, president of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires, went on to say that Chao “manages to highlight both magnificent jewels set with incredible centre stones and the most refined craftsmanship.” It was an emotional moment for 42-yearold Chao, who was honoured to receive such recognition after more than a decade of hard work and says it was a dream of hers to appear at the Paris biennale.
