Confident, creative and carefree; lively, forward-looking and spirited. That’s the Livingetc promise. We are passionate about setting design directions and showing fresh and original interiors. This June issue marks a new start. We have been working hard to redesign our visuals and refresh our content to ensure that we deliver the ultimate homes, decorating and lifestyle edit to our audience of early adopters. Possibly my favourite feature in this issue is page 13, on which news editor Maudie Manton writes with flair about those zeitgeisty things currently creating a buzz in interiors. Floor bling? Umm, yes please. And, of course, it wouldn’t be Livingetc without a lot of fabulous houses. This issue we have six jaw-dropping homes to make you swoon. 1 BLOOD ORANGE Enjoying the spotlight both in our downstairs loos (you’ve got Cole & Son’s Fornasetti Senza Tempo wallpaper collection, pictured, to thank) and in our cocktail glasses – Malfy’s Con Arancia gin is fused with Sicilian blood orange peels in bottles that are every bit as sharp. 2 MILAN’S MOMENT The city has been descended upon by a crowd of design types for the 58th edition of the Salone del Mobile fair, furniture’s answer to Fashion Week. Italian brands did what Italian brands do best, offering sleek and modern design, with superstar pairings galore. Collaborative launch highlights included Ross Lovegrove at Natuzzi. 3 TIDE LINES Requires unwavering nerve while yielding a paintbrush. Look to British Standard by Plain English for reference (purveyors of only the most covetable of kitchen cupboards) and expand the…

THE NAME TO DROP humbert & poyet Chances are that you’re already familiar with two-man-band Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet by way of the boutique Hoxton Hotel group. Responsible for the much ’grammed bedrooms of the group’s Parisian outpost, the pair’s ‘luxury meant for everyday living’ philosophy can be seen across the hotel’s mix of chevron timber floors, Jean Prouvé furniture and leather buckle headboards. Look at the duo’s wider portfolio and a winning formula presents itself: fine materials (marble, lacquered walnut and polished brass) married with Art-Deco influences (check out the recently opened 8th Arrondissement Beefbar for an Art Deco/Nouveau mash-up in historical surroundings), tapping into the current appetite for spaces with feet firmly placed in both the past and present. It was perhaps inevitable then that The Invisible Collection (imagine a…
