i bought one lee arncliffe

'I'd love to say that it was because I needed it for offroad work, but I can't,' says Lee. 'I bought it while I lived in South London, and I loved the look of it. However, I've moved to Herefordshire and it just seems to work out here, especially when the weather gets worse.' Lee's owned his Allroad for about ten years now, and for much of that it's been a dutiful workhorse, notching up 100,000 miles in the process. Now it's been eased into partial retirement, Lee's started to bring it back as a weekend toy. 'I've started by replacing some of the trim, and completely replacing the rear load area.' He's not had any major problems, other than the rocker arm that operates the manifold flaps breaking. 'That…

Trending: Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG Estate One to buy! The Mercedes-Benz C36 (W202) is a rare car; only 70 of the sporting straight-six saloons remain on the road, according to the DVLA. Fortunately, the V8-engined C43s are a little more common, with 154 currently taxed and burbling about. In either instance, these high-performance Mercs are often overlooked. That’s surprising when it comes to the C36, given that it was the first official AMG variant that Mercedes-Benz offered. Even their capabilities and dwindling numbers haven’t caused prices to shift substantially. However, a C43 AMG Estate exceeded its £7000-£10,000 guide price to sell for £12,402 at a Morris Leslie auction in February. It wasn’t a minter, either, with 125,830 miles on the clock and, like most W202s, its share of underbody corrosion. Historics auctioned the same car…

I fell in love with the shape and uniqueness of the FD's engine back in the early 2000s. They were very popular in the drift scene and I watched a lot of the Japanese motoring programme Hot Version, where the Re Amemiya tuned cars would monster the Touge routes. A friend found this example for me in Japan and, with the help of Torque GT, I got it imported. What’s the best bit? The rotary engine is a work of art. Small, three moving parts,…
