HAVE YOU EVER FALLEN IN LOVE with a building? I have, and some have become lifelong romances. From the sinuous lines of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Guggenheim Museum in New York to the futuristic form of Hong Kong’s Bank of China Tower—one of the landmark creations of architect IM Pei, who just recently passed away—these are just a handful of the many structures that move me. IT WAS ALMOST A CENTURY ago when WO Bentley founded Bentley Motors with a vision “to build a fast car, a good car, the best in its class”. This remains at the heart of the marque till today. Every car that leaves its factory in the outskirts of Crewe in Cheshire, England is exquisite in its craftsmanship and innovative in its design—the very qualities that have endeared Bentley to car enthusiasts around the globe. This dedication to design using modern materials also extends to the luxury automotive manufacture’s Bentley Home brand, which recently released a new limited-edition collection of furniture in celebration of its centenary. Created by Bentley Design, the marque’s creative luxury arm, the capsule collection, launched at Milan’s Salone del Mobile furniture fair in April, comprises a desk, an…
