But it’s the one season I don’t mind having stretched over a couple of months. Christmas means many things to different people. For me, besides it having religious significance, the season is about family, feasts and fetes, and of course, the coolest outfits and makeup to look fab. And you have them all in this vibrant issue. joanna jumps ahead

She was criticised by the judges for her “aunty get-up” in her Singapore Idol audition in 2004, but Joanna Dong has had the last laugh – wowing audiences recently on the Sing! China stage and landing pop star Jay Chou as her mentor. This year’s answer to Nathan Hartono, Joanna may not have taken the top two spots, but she’s certainly No 1 with Singaporean fans who love her jazzy vibe and supported her through her Sing! China journey. The talented singer beat out her fellow Singaporean compatriots, including Olinda Cho and Stella Seah, to make it to the finals and although she didn’t win, Joanna says she’ll continue to sing to the beat of her own tune.
