Mary Henderson Mary is passionate about the stitch patterns of traditional Scottish knitting, and she has won a firm following thanks to her intricate Fair Isle designs and delicate lacework. Mary’s latest colourwork projects are a Fair Isle tam and matching armwarmers, on page 59. Jo Storie Jo worked as a knitwear designer for fashion brands in London and New York before launching her own label in 2011, offering modern patterns with a timeless look. BRIGHT, RIPPLING stripes stand out against a dark grey background on this modern jumper by Oksana Dymyd. The stripes are created using short-row shaping, and the green colour is echoed in the garter stitch cuffs. The garment is worked in two pieces, then seamed along the shoulders and sleeves; a garter stitch neckline is added before sewing up the side seams.
