The weather is getting cooler, and the vegan scene is getting hotter. Everywhere you look, you’ll find plant-based athletes, celebs, politicians, and media moguls repping the vegan life. Take, for example, NBA’s DeAndre Jordan. He’s vegan, vocal about his diet, and host of a new plant-based cooking show. DeAndre epitomizes everyday veganism and is a model for what incorporated activism looks like in the real world. What inspired you to adopt a vegan lifestyle, and in what ways has your life changed since? Each off-season, I would try different ways to get better mentally and physically. I would try going vegetarian for a few weeks at a time and realized that when I was finished, I felt much clearer and energized. beyond chicken tenders are now available at restaurants nationwide

After receiving mixed reviews on their attempt at chicken strips in 2012, the team at Beyond Meat decided to revamp their plant-based chicken recipe—and the result is Beyond Chicken Tenders. These tasty tenders are packed with 14g of protein, and critics attest that they taste just like their meat-based counterparts. In July, the company rolled out Beyond Chicken Tenders at over 400 restaurants nationwide, including chains such as Next Level Burger, Dog Haus, and Toppers Pizza, as well as local eateries such as Milwaukee Burger Company and Pub 819. Beyond Meat also plans to expand their tender offerings at stadiums and hotels in the near future.…

gucci releases its first vegan leather sneaker line

In June, Gucci released its first vegan leather sneaker line—Demetra. The name of the sneakers was chosen by Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, and was inspired by Demeter, the Greek goddess of harvest. The vegan leather sneaker line features three different styles, including Gucci Basket, Gucci New Ace, and Gucci Rhyton. The shoes are priced between $700 and $950, and are produced in the company’s Italian factory. All three styles can be purchased in Gucci stores and on their website.…

kylie cosmetics gets a vegan makeover

Reality TV star and businesswoman Kylie Jenner has relaunched her makeup line—Kylie Cosmetics—using a cruelty-free, vegan, and gluten-free formula. While Kylie Cosmetics has always been cruelty-free, the updated line is now fully vegan and features 37 lip kits, 30 high glosses, 32 matte liquid lipsticks, nine lip liners, four lip blushes, and 15 matte and shimmer gel eyeliner shades. In addition to her makeup brand, Kylie Jenner launched Kylie Skin in May 2019. The skincare brand is 100% cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and is suitable for all skin types.
