With so much disruption over the past year, most of us would quite like a year off from exponential change, yet no one (as this year proved) knows what’s around the corner. Perhaps we should all live each day like it’s our last? It’s a mantra the bolder and braver part of me likes the idea of – yet in reality, ‘saving for a rainy day’ often wins out. Perhaps I should just take baby steps at first, and Kim Willis’ story (p40) has inspired me to do just that. I may not be entirely comfortable with shaking it all up, but making small changes that can brighten everyone’s day is something I’m going to embrace. Fancy giving it a go with me?…

what a week!

BRAD AND ANGIE’S SON MADDOX SIDES WITH HIS MUM Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce took an even nastier turn as their son Maddox testified against his father amid their ongoing custody dispute. According to an insider, the 19-year-old’s testimony ‘wasn’t very flattering towards Brad’ and comes after Maddox stopped using his father’s name. The source revealed, ‘He doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie. Maddox wants to legally change his last name to Jolie, which Angelina has said she doesn’t support.’ Angelina, 45, and Brad, 57, announced their divorce in 2016, but have been embroiled in a custody battle over their children Maddox, Zahara, 16, Pax, 17, Shiloh, 14, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 12, ever since. Now it has been claimed Angelina is…

‘this has to stop!’

‘ONLY THEN CAN WE JUDGE’ With so much on her plate already this year, including caring for her husband, Prince Philip, the last thing the Queen needed was her beloved grandsons taking aim at each other in the glare of the world’s media. And after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey – and the Duke of Cambridge’s subsequent upset and unprecedented response – that’s exactly what Her Majesty is dealing with. But Woman columnist and royal insider Duncan Larcombe tells us that the Queen is investigating claims from all parties, and is determined to return peace to her family – and knows this has to stop once and for all. MUD STICKS While Harry and Meghan’s interview was full of scandalous claims, perhaps one of the most damaging to the…

prince harry forced to go it alone

By stripping Harry of his Met Police protection officers, Prince Charles robbed the wayward royal of one of the few constants in his life. From before he was even born, a group of highly trained, hand-picked officers from the force’s elite SO14 unit were there to keep Harry from harm. This 24-hour protection literally kept the young royal safe every second of his life (with the short exception of when Harry served in Afghanistan). It is therefore unsurprising that Harry would, over the years, form a strong bond with a handful of protection officers who became friends, mentors and a shoulder to cry on. Until relatively recently, Harry shared his beloved protection officers with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, filling shifts from a small pool. William and Harry would often pass messages to each…

david tells victoria ‘it’s time to give up’

To most, Victoria Beckham seems like a hugely successful businesswoman, especially after having launched her own fashion brand in 2008. Every year, the front row for her show is packed with the crème de la crème of the industry, including Vogue editor Anna Wintour and A-listers such as Kate Winslet and Gwyneth Paltrow, who have been lining up to wear Victoria Beckham dresses for years. Her fashion label was even named Designer Brand of the Year in 2011. With boutiques in London and Hong Kong, as well as around 400 global stockists, you would imagine that Victoria Beckham’s brand is doing really well. But the truth is Victoria Beckham Limited has not made a profit since its launch – and it seems that her husband David, 45, has been bailing her…

pinched  props

Hugh Bonneville There were many luxurious props that Hugh, 57, could’ve taken from the set of Downton Abbey. But the Lord Grantham actor simply chose to take a letter from Henry Talbot to the Crawleys, and also a telegram announcing the war with Germany. The letters are now ‘inside the downstairs loo. Framed!’ Each to their own! Julie Andrews The costumes in Mary Poppins were beautifully vibrant, so it’s no wonder Julie decided to take home the shoes Mary wore on her outing with Bert. However, the 85-year-old actor doesn’t wear them. ‘They’re doorstops now and look very pretty,’ she revealed. Dakota Johnson Fifty Shades of Grey was a raunchy film and Dakota, 31, who played Anastasia Steele in the franchise, took home some sexy souvenirs. ‘I stole lots of the underwear – they were…
