Editor’s notes
“It’s easy to forget how much work you have put into your garden and the changes made over the years, because change takes time and we forget what our garden was like before. The other day, I was toiling away but feeling I wasn’t getting anywhere, so I sat down and took stock of what had been achieved: in a few years, I’ve planted an apple tree, two ornamental cherries and a birch, plus four climbing roses; built two composting areas; planted a beech hedge; created a rock garden; hid an ugly garage with a mix of pyracantha, honeysuckle and clematis; and built a succulent tower. We are so task-focused we often forget our achievements. So why not sit down, have a cuppa and take stock? You’ll be pleasantly surprised.”…
