It was great to finally get to a caravan show after they've been on hold for so long. The Sydney Supershow ran for nearly a week in mid-April and thousands of people attended every day. The team at Spinifex Caravans are of the belief that generators will soon be a thing of the past. This belief is backed up by Spinifex's new Safiery 48V battery system that will power a caravan totally and will thereby eliminate the need for gas appliances. Consisting of a combination of Safiery batteries, Victron components and solar panels, the idea for a 48V system was planted when Spinifex customers Paul and Monique suggested the company look at building a caravan that doesn’t use gas. Instead of the standard 12V system, Spinifex decided to use a 48V system because it was far more efficient in that while batteries are being charged at 48V, an inverter uses 48V to convert to 240V. Award-winning Peninsula Hot Springs Group has joined forces with East Gippsland tourism operators Adrian and Rachel Bromage to build a new hot springs in the Gippsland suburb of Metung. A 3.5 hour drive from Melbourne, the hot springs will become a major addition for the region, particularly in the colder months as visitors to the area are enticed to lengthen their stay. Being in talks with Peninsula Hot Springs Group since 2012, the project has been a long-time dream for Rachel and Adrian. With recent funding from the East Gippsland bushfire economic recovery grant, the project has been able to commence. The non-for-profit Pambula Motorfest is set to take place on the Sapphire Coast this September. With hundreds of cars, trucks, bikes, boats, tractors and anything else with a motor on display, the festival will aim to raise funds for the Bega Valley community. Local charities and schools will use the funds to rebuild the community after battling drought, bushfires, and COVID-19. The Motorfest is an all ages event with over 300 exhibits and various activities including a Swap Meet, Trade Fair, lawn mower racing, trash and treasure, rocker cover racing, Kids Zone, Food Frolic, locally made products and crafts.
