Leeks
Leeks have been enjoyed by humanity for millennia, and for at least 4000 years we have been cultivating them as a crop. Leeks are usually harvested commercially and ideally should be eaten as soon as possible after picking. When buying you should look for crisp, firm, white stems that are thin for the best-tasting options. It’s not ideal but you can store them for up to two weeks in a bag in the coldest part of the fridge.
