in a nutshell

There’s nothing like celebrating Mother’s Day with a special family—one headed by an exceptional mom. That’s what we’ve done in this edition: we met with the beloved star of Grand Hotel, Roselyn Sánchez, who kindly welcomed us into her Los Angeles home—honored that we are!—to show us a day in the life of the woman in front of the camera: the tender full-time mom who never loses track of her precious offspring; the sexy wife in love with her gorgeous gringo husband (who doesn’t speak Spanish, “but understands almost everything”); the restless and hyperactive professional who is either studying a script to act in or produce, or on the phone with a network of people who share her concern for helpless animals—or the fate of the donations made to her…

spotlight behind the scenes

For this edition, partly dedicated to mothers—and fathers!—we had the pleasure of working with our very special guest interviewer: Eva Longoria. We went with her to the L.A. home of the beautiful Roselyn Sánchez to meet her amazing family and talk about Ros’ new TV adventure: her role as Gigi Mendoza in the new series Grand Hotel (ABC) directed and produced by none other than Eva (page 66). The interview was delightful, thanks to their great friendship and the shared respect these beloved Latinas have for each other. It is a must-read! JAVIER ROMERO; ALEJANDRO SOSA; ESTEBAN CHACIN…

the ones to watch

LORENZA IZZO The Chilean actress has been a longtime fan of Quentin Tarantino, so to be cast in his ninth film, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, was a dream come true. Throw Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie into the mix—the 29-year-old had to “pinch [herself] nonstop.” After the first-day jitters, Lorenza quickly realized that she was part of the crew. “It’s a very special set,” she tells HOLA! USA. “An interesting thing happens when you work with such talented legends—it’s just easy.” Though she isn’t able to divulge much about her character as Italian “bombshell” Francesca Capucci (Quentin’s orders!), Lorenza does admit, “It’s the most amazing role I’ve ever had to play.” And while Francesca may be fictional, it’s her approach to life that will stay with Lorenza forever.…
