editor’s note

2019 is a year of five eclipses, two of which were covered in an article in our January issue. Our lead article covers the two that happen this month, with a brief nod to another eclipse coming up in December. This month’s eclipses will not be visible in the United States, but they are important nonetheless. Note also that Pat Strickland gives additional eclipse coverage in “Starscope for Today’s Living” on page 51, including an “eclipse bulletin” for each sign. On page 38, our article on the “Mystical Magician” Neptune takes a special look at how it affects us through the houses and the aspects in a chart, and it gives careful instructions that will help you better understand Neptune’s place in your own horoscope. Some readers may not realize that astrology, once banned from academia, has done its homework diligently over the last few decades and has slowly made its way back into the fold. Perhaps the most durable sign of that progress has happened in the United Kingdom, evidence of which we can see in the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at University of Wales Trinity Saint David. The Sophia Centre that produced this publication is a research and teaching center within the Faculty of Humanities and the Performing Arts at that university, and I urge the reader interested in the future of astrology to take time to go to www.uwtsd.ac.uk/sophia/ and look into what the Centre is doing. The volume reviewed here is the 10th in a series and consists of…

by the numbers

According to the principles of numerology, the year 2019 reduces to 3 (2+0+1+9=12=3), a number that is associated with socializing, traveling, and working with others. This is the year to meet and network with people who will advance your professional life and enrich your personal experiences. If you are naturally extraverted, this year will be right up your alley. If you are normally withdrawn or insecure, this is the time to come out of your shell. It will be worth the effort. We add the number for the current year to the month number (January is 1, December is 1+2=3) to your own birthday number (1st=1, 31st=3+1=4) to calculate your vibration for the month. FOR THOSE BORN ON THE 1st, 10th, 19th, and 28th of any month Moon-2 vibrations will lure you back…
