editor’s note

Though people tend to think of themselves as a single sign, or maybe three signs if we include the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant, in a sense we are all signs. If you look at your birth chart, you’ll see all 12 in there, with each making its contribution in its own way. As the Moon moves through the signs each month, and the Sun moves through the signs each year, it can be said that each sign’s contribution to how we feel, think, and act ebbs and flows within us. To see how this works, take a look at “The Sign That Powers Autumn” on page 38. Among the planets used by most astrologers, some seem to work well together while others are what might be considered “odd couples,” the chief…

book reviews

At a certain point in my long career of doing mostly what I am doing now, by which I mean either writing about astrology or editing what someone else has written about astrology, I have picked up a few favorites along the way, both individual astrologers and the books those astrologers have written. I suppose that working on the article in this issue on the Saturn-Neptune sextile has made me a little nostalgic since it included quite a bit about Marc Edmund Jones. It did bring up thoughts of a time in my life when I could be seen walking around on a campus with a book bag filled with notebooks and books related to things I ought to be doing, yet always including a book or two related to…

by the numbers

According to the principles of numerology, the year 2019 reduces to 3 (2+0+1+9=12=3), a number that is associated with socializing, traveling, and working with others. This is the year to meet and network with people who will advance your professional life and enrich your personal experiences. If you are naturally extro verted, this year will be right up your alley. If you are normally withdrawn or insecure, this is the time to come out of your shell. It will be worth the effort. We add the number for the current year to the month number (January is 1, December is 1+2=3) to your own birthday number (1st=1, 31st=3+1=4) to calculate your vibration for the month. FOR THOSE BORN ON THE 1st, 10th, 19th, and 28th of any month Mercury-5 vibrations will allow you…
