editor’s note

June is a month of two major happenings, and we have the news about them right here. First, this is an eclipse month, so we have that covered in “The Summer Eclipses” on page 38. This gives us a complete perspective on what the lunar eclipse on the 5th and the solar eclipse on the 21st will mean to the world, to the U.S., and to each of us as well. As an added bonus, go to our regular feature Starscope for Today’s Living, on page 51 to read Pat Strickland’s take on these two events and you will find a special “Eclipse Bulletin” for your sign. Fixed Stars in the Chart: Constellations, Lunar Mansions and Mythology, by Oscar Hofman. The Wessex Astrologer, wessexastrologer.com. 250 pages, paper. $25.00. There was a time when the so-called fixed stars were a relatively minor part of modern Western astrology, with the few books available on the subject seeming mostly to have the same information in them: lists of stars, often in alphabetical order, along with tropical longitudes and instructions on how to correct them for precession. Interpretations were sparse, often based on hints that this or that star was “of the nature of” this or that planet or combination of planets. The primary problem with such information was that it was very difficult to integrate it into a sensible interpretation of a chart. It was as if the stars were little…

According to the principles of numerology, the year 2020 reduces to 4 (2+0+2+0=4), a number that is associated with concentration, hard work, and applying your best efforts to getting the job done. This is a year to be introspective and reflect on how you can become a better person and live up to your goals. You can use your talents and skills to pay it forward and give back to the community in the form of mentoring, volunteering, and generally doing good deeds. We add the number for the current year to the month number (January is 1, December is 1+2=3) to your own birthday number (1st=1, 31st=3+1=4) to calculate your vibration for the month. FOR THOSE BORN ON THE 1st, 10th, 19th, and 28th of any month Moon-2 vibrations will remind you…
