There are few things that can make the hours fly by quite like a project with a deadline. When I decided that January and February were the months to tackle my house and body (in that order), I thought I had heaps of time, but unfortunately not. The house has more rooms than there are weekends in a month and just getting everything that I was discarding to its new destinations was a challenge in itself. Giving up was not an option. Now that my son has his own home (page 36), I couldn’t have my empty nest comparing badly. My house simply had to be decluttered! Donating much-loved old possessions to the charity shop, homeless people, an old-age home or two and the collection points for items to help those…
