WITH SPORT and adventure bikes becoming more popular in India, Honda are focusing their their attention on this segment. In a recent interaction, the Japanese company confirmed that it would be producing sub-500-cc motorcycles in India. That’s not really the big news because Honda already assemble bikes such as the CB300R here but since even completely knocked down (CKD) units attract huge taxes, the single-cylinder neo-retro bike costs about the same as the Royal Enfield 650 twins. The story peg is that Honda are aiming at 100 per cent localization for the new line-up of middle-weights and this should facilitate a lot more competitive price point. According to a report by MCN, Honda are working on a smaller-capacity Africa Twin to enter into the middleweight segment and appeal to a wider range of customers. This is good news for enthusiasts. The bike will help fill the gap between the off-road-focused CRFs (250-cc - 450-cc) and the 1,100-cc Africa Twin. Kenji Morita, project leader for the 1,100-cc Africa Twin, was quoted as saying that Honda, who have a gap in their range, were thinking of a half-way model to attract younger buyers. The new Africa Twin is expected to be based on the Honda NC series from 2012 that included the NC750S and NC750X. The report suggests that the new Africa Twin will be equipped with a 790-cc engine and, like the 1100, get a DCT option as well.…

Recently I bought a helmet with the “ISI” mark as a sticker. Is it legitimate to have an ISI mark sticker instead of a printed mark?
