two much love

Alia Bhatt. She’s like a normal girl-next-door with all the quirks and hi-jinks. She will talk nineteen-to-the-dozen about everything under the sun and there will be this suppressed energy in her talk that you’d find mesmerising. Interacting with her is a dream. You can listen to her hours at a stretch and not get bored. Everything changes when the camera is turned on, when the director says ‘action’. She seemingly turns on some internal switch and becomes her character. The only other actor I’ve seen doing this is Kajol. However, he was acquitted in both the cases recently. Along with Salman, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Sonali Bendre were also present at the court hearing in Rajasthan. But bogged down by the gruelling schedules of TV shows, he opted for a break. Today, he’s way fitter than he was – both in body and mind. Currently, he’s working on a film titled Battalion 609, a fictional story of Indo-Pak soldiers. We wish him luck.…

laila... once more!

Shah Rukh sir wrote on Twitter, ‘Pawni Pandey, thank you so much for making the song come alive. You are the other Laila of the song Pawni Pandey’s scintillating version of the iconic number Laila main Laila is a chartbuster not only on the music roster. Rather it’s even set the theatres on fire, harking back to the era of coin throwing and whistling. Naturally, young Pawni is overwhelmed by the thunder of applause. She’s glad that she could do justice to the Kalyanji- Anandji cult song that first featured in Feroz Khan’s Qurbani (1980) and was filmed on the sensuous Zeenat Aman. It was sung by Amit Kumar and Kanchan. “It’s a risky deal to belt out an iconic number for a newcomer like me,” she smiles adding, “It all…
