There’s a feast of drama on Foxtel this month. As Wentworth returns for its nailbiting seventh season, Susie Porter reveals the challenges ahead for her character, Marie Winter. We’re counting down to the climactic Game of Thrones finale. Deputy editor Carolyn Hiblen spent a day with the cast of the TV phenomenon and you can read her interview with the women of Westeros from page 16. Plus there’s the Magnum P.I. reboot, family power plays in MotherFatherSon, Richard Gere’s first major TV role, and the final season of The Durrells. You can also explore the real Game of Thrones in new docuseries End of Empire: The Rise and Fall of Dynasties. And in the world of sport, there’s tennis from Roland Garros in Paris, the ICC Cricket World Cup, countdown to the A-League finals,…

winds of change

They may be battling the cold now, but trust us when we say that things are about to get a whole lot hotter for the women of HBO dramedy Divorce when the series returns for its long-awaited third instalment later this year. Following two roller-coaster seasons back on the dating scene with varying degrees of success, Sarah Jessica Parker’s Frances (pictured centre) will reportedly be swept off her feet by a man who’s all too familiar with the world of divorce: Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce star James Lesure. With her ex-husband, Robert – played by the ever likeable Thomas Haden Church – having moved on with savvy Jackie (Becki Newton, who has been upgraded to series regular for this next outing), partnering with her on a successful house-flipping business, the pair is…

out with a bang!

When Game of Thrones comes to its thrilling conclusion on May 20, fans will undoubtedly be left wanting more. Fortunately, companion panel show Thrones 360: LIVE will be on hand to dissect and discuss every moment of the action from the worldwide phenomenon’s final episode ever. “I think we’re going to have to have some group counsellors in,” predicts James Mathison (pictured with co-host Stephanie Bendixsen) with a laugh. “[There will be] a lot of goblets of wine because: a) it’s not going to please everyone; and b) people are going to have to contemplate their lives, a life that is post-Game of Thrones – and that’s depressing!” So who do they think will be the last man (or woman) standing? “I feel like Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) has a pretty strong chance of…

beachside bliss

Ever dreamed of a sea change? Of trading in the hustle and bustle of city living for an ocean breeze? If you’re in need of a little inspiration, then look no further. Foxtel favourite Deborah Hutton (pictured) is set to return to screens later this year with new Lifestyle [106] series Find Me a Beach House. Each week, a new set of buyers – with varying budgets and requirements – peruse three properties that tick all their boxes. But unlike most home shows, which often conclude without a purchase being made, this series not only sees results, but checks back in with the happy homeowners to see how their lives have changed since settling into their new abode. “I’m so excited!” Hutton says of her new gig, adding that it’s her “favourite subject”.…

mind over matter

The last NRL season was tough for the Eels, with the club not winning many games and me missing the first six rounds with an ACL knee injury. It wasn’t easy sitting on the sidelines to start the year but, as captain of the club, it was important to stay positive. When I first did the injury [in 2017], the initial setback was probably the hardest. I had some dark days, but that’s what comes with playing rugby league or any sport. You have to get over it pretty quickly. It’s important to have the right people around you to help you move on and focus on what you can control, such as injury rehab. I also reached out to players who had [suffered] the same injury. It was great to…

My current Foxtel TV obsession is… Modern Family. I love it. I usually watch it when it comes on. My favourite character is Manny [played by Rico Rodriguez]. When I watch TV I must have… so much food. I like cereal – I could live off cereal. If someone told me I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and not gain any weight, I would. My dream evening of television would include… the Oscars, the Tonys and The Office. I love Steve Carell [who plays Michael Scott in the US version] – he’s my favourite actor in the whole world. My dream TV-watching companion is… my dog. She doesn’t talk during the movie; she doesn’t eat any of my snacks. If I could be on any other show, it would be… well,…
