HOLY MOLEY Although most moles tend to be benign, it is crucial to do regular mole checks of the entire body for both children and adults. A mole is simply a growth of clusters of pigmented cells, usually brown or pink in color, that often appear in childhood or adolescence. They typically appear round or oval in shape, are dome-like and around 5 millimeters in size. Moles are quite common. In fact, the average adult has anywhere from 10 to 40 moles on their body.
