Japanese retail camera sales reflect a trend towards APS -C and the figures released by Map Camera for October sales make interesting reading. Top of the list in sales was Fujifilm’s X-H2. The X-H2 is followed in second position by Nikon’s Z 9 which continues to be in short supply. Number three is again Fujifilm with the XS-10. Sony comes fourth with the FX 30. New Delhi-born photographer and bookmaker Dayanita Singh was honoured recently at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre and Gothia Towers in Gothenburg, Sweden, for winning the 2022 Hasselblad Award. Considered the Nobel Prize in photography, this year’s prize included the sum of SEK 2,000,000, a gold medal, and a diploma. In partnership with the Hasselblad Foundation, the Hasselblad company presented Singh with two digital cameras, the newly released X2D 100C, and a 907X 50C, along with an XCD 55V lens. This is the first time a Hasselblad Award winner has received Hasselblad cameras as part of the prize package.
