Many among us will agree that beige was never a staple in Indian wardrobes. Growing up I thought it made me blend in a little too much, as if it had the power to erase one’s physical presence. In India we like dressing up in colour. Celebrations, whether multi-event destination weddings or intimate at-home birthday parties, are all about jewel tones, fresh sorbet hues and pretty pastels. When I finally stopped wearing colour, I headed straight to black. Beige, to me, remained bland and nondescript. THE FUTURE IS FEMALE As a film student, ‘Star power’ was an inspirational read. It’s refreshing to see a new side to Bollywood; with actors like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra turning producers, our films will only benefit with a new twist to the usual narratives. Tanvi Sharma, Pune SUMMER BLOOM Ever since their secret wedding in Tuscany, I’ve been in awe of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. They truly represent what it takes to be India’s power couple. Reading the cover story ‘A piece of sky’ in Vogue’s March issue had me hooked, as it accurately captures the essence of Anushka Sharma as a modern-day star who has mastered the art of balancing her public and private lives. Shruti Malik, Gurugram HEAD STRONG Sonali Bendre Behl’s story ‘A rock of her own’ in the March issue…

there’s nothing you can’t face

For centuries (perhaps longer), women have been told what to do and how to be. We’ve let people define us. We’ve even allowed them to dictate our dreams and self-worth. But not anymore. We are now defying judgements that question our talent, appearance, competence and capabilities. And this is the underlying theme of Olay’s new campaign #FaceAnything. It is a celebration of the unapologetically bold and confident millennial woman who laughs in the face of social conditioning and criticism to pave her own way. To propel the campaign message, Olay zeroed in on five women who have harnessed their inner strength to become inspirations in their own right. After using Olay’s products for 28 days, each of them took up the challenge to face the Vogue lens without any make-up. While…
