apple announces iphone x display module replacement programme

Apple has announced a new repair scheme for owners of the iPhone X. The iPhone X Display Module Replacement Programme provides a fix for those having problems with the touchscreen. According to Apple’s support document (go to fave.co/2DK987x), the issue at hand is whether the iPhone X fails to respond to touch, intermittently stops responding to touch, or the screen reacts without being touched. If your iPhone X is experiencing these issues, you may be able to have it fixed for free. The fix involves replacing the display module and the service must be done by an Apple authorized service provider or at the Apple store. If you paid for a prior fix for this problem, Apple says you may be eligible for a refund for the service. For more details about the…

12.9in ipad pro (2018)

Price: £1,869 from fave.co/2OxGqZe Can’t innovate any more, my ass. After thoroughly redesigning its iPhone and Apple Watch lines, Apple has now done the same for its iPads – removing Home buttons and Lightning ports, shrinking bezels, curving corners and generally making them look like they belong in 2018. In this review we take an in-depth look at the third-generation iPad Pro 12.9in. We benchmark its (absurdly fast) A12X Bionic processor, run battery and camera tests, and evaluate its radical new design, updated specs list and whopping prices. Price The latest 12.9in iPad Pro is available in a variety of configurations. Here’s the full price list. Note that as well as offering the most storage, the 1TB models come with an extra 2GB of RAM, although this isn’t officially disclosed in Apple’s tech specs,…

apple pencil 2

Price: £119 from fave.co/2Q6OJQK The original Apple Pencil was the best iPad stylus from its 2015 launch until last month, when the second-generation model rolled into town. The new version is shorter, matte white and magnetically attachable, and has a single flat edge you can tap to trigger app-specific functions. But is it worth the extra money? In this article we review the Apple Pencil (2018), explore its design, features and value for money, and offer advice about whether it’s the right stylus for you. Compatibility Before we get too far into the question of whether the Pencil 2 is any good, it’s important to state that your choice of Pencil will be dictated by your choice of iPad – each iPad works with only one version of the Pencil. • If you’ve got…

apple’s iphone xr versus android’s best

The new iPhone XR might not be a flagship, but it’s really good. So good, in fact, that I called it Apple’s best iPhone ever in my review – not because of its specs (which are technically inferior to those of the XS and XS Max), but because of its value proposition. That’s pitting it against other, pricier iPhones, though. I wanted to see how the iPhone XR would fare against three of Android’s best phones: the Galaxy Note 9, Pixel 3 XL, and OnePlus 6T. We’ll walk through all the major factors we review in a phone, discussing each phone’s pros and cons and picking a winner. Display Ask any screen geek about the difference between the iPhone XR’s LCD display and an AMOLED screen, and they’ll tell that there’s no comparison.…

how to pick the apple watch that’s right for you

ROMAN LOYOLA reveals what to consider when selecting an Apple Watch Picking an Apple Watch used to be a little complicated, with various different case materials, bands, and style. Now, Apple has become more focused with the Apple Watch, which means that the selection process is a lot easier than before. Now, the case materials, bands, and style are characteristics of the models Apple offers. Apple offers four different Apple Watch models, but three of the models – Apple Watch Series 4, Apple Watch Nike+, and Apple Watch Hermès – have the same insides, so they’re basically the same watch. For the purposes of this guide, whenever we refer to the Apple Watch Series 4, that reference also applies to the Apple Watch Nike+ and Apple Watch Hermès. Let’s take a look at…

iphone x display module replacement programme

It took a year, but Apple is finally recognizing that the iPhone X display has issues. As the first completely redesigned iPhone in years, the iPhone X wasn’t without its share of issues when it launched. Apple seemingly fixed most of them via a stream of software updates, but many users have complained about persistent issues with the screen. And Apple’s finally doing something about it. At long last, it is launching an iPhone X Display Module Replacement Programme (fave.co/2DK987x) to address lingering touch issues. Here’s everything you need to know: What is the iPhone X Display Module Replacement Programme? According to Apple, it “has determined that some iPhone X displays may experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module”, which could result in unresponsive or overly…
