THE COSY SEASON There’s something so refreshing about a change in season, and autumn’s gentle turn into winter would have to be one of my favourite season switches. It’s that chill in the air while the sun still shines, a desire to dive into drawers packed with chunky throws and returning home after a long Sunday walk with the dog to the welcoming aroma of a roast that’s been slow cooking for hours. Although summer will probably always have my heart (I’m a sucker for lazy swims in the sea), winter really is a magical time of year. HOMEBEAUTIFULMAG @HOMEBEAUTIFUL HOMEBEAUTIFUL.COM.AU PINTEREST.COM/HOMEBEAUTIFUL HOMEBEAUTIFUL@AREMEDIA.COM.AU THE DAILY HOME EDIT ESCAPE TO THE COUNTRY The HB team (including our hungry assistant, pictured) visited Bundara Farm in NSW for our winter getaway style and entertaining special. Keep an eye out for it in our July issue, on sale June 7. WE GOT MAIL “MY BESTIE, BELLA (PICTURED), AND I LOVE READING OUR HB TOGETHER AND GATHERING IDEAS FOR OUR NEW HOME” – CARLA, VIA EMAIL BACK TO BLACK We’re partial to anything tall, dark and handsome, and this kitchen in builder-owner Saul Myers’ guesthouse ticks all the boxes. Finished with moody hues and spectacular wallpaper, as part of our ‘House to Home Beautiful’ project, it was no surprise that it was also our most-loved online story this month. COLLECTION CHELON A romantic ode to soft Mediterranean finishes, the new ‘Chelon’ range designed by former HB style editor and regular contributor Fiona Gould, is making its elegant mark in furniture and homewares. Chelon’s pieces are sculpted from natural stone and Venetian plaster, with all plaster elements handcrafted by Fiona. Inspired by architectural European columns and details (and Fiona’s own Italian heritage), the line – including the Ida coffee table (pictured), $2400 – introduces the sophistication of concave fluting, a subtle and classic finish. What influenced and inspired your latest collection, MAISON 01? “My travels abroad. The Paris flea markets. Mixing raw with refined and vintage with modern. We wanted to allow people to customise pieces, so that they felt like they were a part of the design journey, too.” What is your favourite piece from the collection? “The ‘Klaxon’ side table is my favourite. It’s a really strong piece.” How would you describe your personal interior style? “Minimalistic yet sensuous. I absolutely love combining textures, colour and form together to create graceful, timeless narratives and immersive experiences.” What are your biggest influences? “Music, art and books. I will often go and work from libraries, especially if I am travelling abroad. Some of my favourite artists are Jean Cocteau, Pablo Picasso, Joan Mirò and Henri Matisse.” What is the best piece of…
