FLOW
I find the lull between the holidays and the beginning of spring to be one of the most creatively satisfying times of the year. To liven things up last winter, I took a screen printing class at our art museum in Des Moines. I enjoyed the scheduled, mandatory creativity and the accomplishment of learning something new. That said, at the end of a hard workday, I’d often scheme an excuse to cancel. Too tired. Need to do this or that chore. But I made myself go to class, and what it did for me was profound. What I invariably experienced during those creative hours is called flow.
