COLOR THEORY
Remember mood rings? I know I’m dating myself here, but as a kid, I was obsessed for one hot Texas summer about the idea that the “jewel” in those rings could indicate how a person was feeling emotionally: Pink was happy, black was depressed, blue was optimistic. My little glass oval was often an indecipherable shade of puce, which worried me a little—but only until I moved on to the next fad (pet rocks). This year while producing our annual color issue, we looked at the long-standing link between color and psychology and how certain parts of the color spectrum have been used in interior design over time.
