don’t worry… just do it…

Well, I’m sat here once again and I’m hanging my head in shame. Well, kind of… ame, because I’ve bought ANOTHER bike, which takes me up to three. I’m sure this is nothing in the grand scheme of things for some people (I did have seven once, somewhat shy of our own Andy Bolas!) but, sod it, we’ve all had a rough 18 months or so. And (sod it again) because I’ve lost a few friends in the last year they’d tell me to go for it. So, yeah: sod it. We only have one life… and… these bikes were cheap(ish) and second-hand. No mid-life crisis of brand-new Ducati and matching leathers for me. Oh no. Instead it’s been a case of thinking about what my cheap, dream garage would be. So,…

canadian cool!

Two wheels, four wheels, skis: as long as it had an engine, Yvon Duhamel would race it hard – and win, too. This is why the super-cool French Canadian was the 1970 World Championship Snowmobile Derby winner and took part in NASCAR, AMA, ice racing, world endurance and dirt-track events, winning in most of the disciplines he entered. Of course, he will be most remembered as one of the men in green, batting with the fast and fearsome green Kawasaki triple two-strokes in AMA and Formula 750 races during the 1970s. Often Yvon would be finishing races or even winning them despite either injury to himself or even damage to his machine. Even more than most racers of his generation, his racing attitude was one of grit, determination, guile and sheer bloody-mindedness. Friendly,…

Mating Sena’s latest mobile communications technology with a premium, dual homologated modular helmet, the Outrush R allows the wearer to pair with a smartphone to hear turn-by-turn GPS directions, listen to music or FM radio, take phone calls and chat with up to four other riders. This is a flip-front helmet with retractable sun visor, but it has integrated speakers and microphone. This gives two-way HD Intercom (rider-to-passenger or bike-to-bike) and four-way Bluetooth bike-to-bike intercom with smartphone connectivity, which works for up to half a mile and with a talk time of up to 12 hours. Safety-wise, it’s also homlogated as full or open face… and has a quick-release fog-resistant visor. You can also have conversations while listening to music, as it reduces the…

tested

NITRO N2300 UNO SATIN BLACK HELMET Nitro has come up trumps with the N2300 full face helmet at a remarkable price for a quality product. I have been wearing a whole range of helmets of late, some extremely pricey, so it is interesting how the Nitro has become an easy choice when popping out. I will tell you why. The custom designed multi-poly tech constructed shell features twin integrated front air vents with large contact points being particularly beneficial for ease of operation with gloved hands, and triple rear exhaust ports, so you are guaranteed ultimate heat dissipation. The comfort lining is removable and washable, and I like the micrometric buckle which offers easy adjustability. The quick-release visor comes pinlock ready, and is compatible with Nitro’s anti-fog pinlock insert. You also get…
