cyrus adopts wi-fi, hdmi

Cyrus has expanded its One range of high-end stereo amplifiers with a new Wi-Fi edition – the One Cast – designed for streaming and multiroom use. The Cambridge-based hi-fi specialist says the model acknowledges the shift in listening habits, and represents a change in direction for the manufacturer, away from two-channel evangelists to more mainstream buyers. The One Cast may not look overly different from its forebears, adopting the familiar truncated form factor of previous Cyrus amps, but it marks a departure in terms of features and functionality. The model is the first from the brand to feature HDMI ARC, allowing it to be the front-end in a TV setup.
