ANNA HAINES / INTERIOR DESIGNER Before becoming an interior designer, Anna worked in PR for galleries and restaurants, and as a yoga teacher: ‘The two roles gave me an excellent understanding of people,’ she says. In her early thirties she was given the chance to design her first flat and found the freedom to experiment and combine textures, colours and artworks intoxicating. Anna completed a diploma course at The Interior Design School, then went on to work for Hackett Holland and Caroline Riddell before setting up her own business in 2010. Last month we handed out the House & Garden Awards for 2023 to great elation as the design industry came together. Precisely which awards we should have each year is as keenly debated as who should win them, to ensure they are relevant and meaningful.
