welcome to…

Recently, I’ve decided to attend more art events again. For a while I had declined the invites because the days I spent away meant that I wasn’t working on the magazine and it was hard to make up the time. Also – if I’m being honest here – I felt a little out of the game after having children, and avoided attending because I felt exposed. LOCATION: Serbia MEDIA: Photoshop, Paint Tool SAI WEB: www.artstation.com/milyknight 1 HUH… “This image embodies power, beauty and strength in adversity. I wanted to paint a strong female character who doesn’t hesitate or fear anything.” 2 TROUVAILLE “The word ‘trouvaille’ indicates a valuable discovery or lucky find. I imagined explorers discovering new worlds and meeting beautiful and fantastical creatures.” 3 ELF GIRL “Elf girl was the result of a great cooperation with a client, and a fun and enjoyable painting process.” 4 LITTLE MERMAID “This painting was created at a very specific period in my life, which is probably why it is one of my dearest pieces.” Want to submit your work? LOCATION: US MEDIA: Photoshop WEB: www.jamesbousema.com 1 THE SERPENT “This started out as part of a gargoyles series, but then I added more environment and implied narrative elements.” 2 THE KRACKEN “With each painting, I try to tackle a completely different creature. I went with a giant squid to really switch things up.” 3 THE VULTURE “My main goal was to explore a clear consistent aesthetic, with the colours dialed back so I could focus on the designs.” 4 THE WOLF “A fun part of these is figuring out where to include gore. It has to be in service of leading the viewer’s eyes.” Want to submit your work? Visit http://ifxm.ag/getinifx…
