I saw my father for the first time in six months recently – he’s the Tony Curtis look-a-like driving the E-type Series 2 across the Yorkshire Moors on p64. But don’t tell him I said that. As well as gossiping about the rest of the Walton clan, he’s always saying that he has no idea how we keep coming up with fresh ideas for Jaguar World. “Surely you’ve done everything by now?” Obviously, I replied it was tough and the result of hard work, late nights etc, etc. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. With 75 years of Jaguar history (more if you go back to its Swallow and SS periods) there’s always lots to say about the company and its cars, especially as it has survived into…

limited-edition e-type exclusive

CALLED THE E-type 60 Collection, each pair of cars pays tribute to two of the oldest and most famous Jaguar E-types of all: 9600 HP and 77 RW, cars that played pivotal roles in the E-type’s world debut in Geneva, Switzerland, in March 1961. The Opalescent Gunmetal Grey 3.8-litre fixed-head coupe registered 9600 HP was one of the first two E-types unveiled to specially invited guests at the Parc des Eaux-Vives. It was driven flat out to Switzerland from Coventry the night before the launch by public relations manager Bob Berry, who arrived with minutes to spare for demonstration drives. When the outstanding reaction to the E-type resulted in an overwhelming demand for drives, legendary Jaguar test and development engineer Norman Dewis was told to drop everything and drive the British Racing…

lister reveals 195mph stealth suv

Lister has taken the wraps off its F-PACE SVR-based Stealth. A thorough update to the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine has resulted in 666bhp and 650lb ft of torque, a 22 percent increase over the standard car. The process began with a custom-built intercooler and a high-performance air filtration system for optimising combustion temperatures and airflow into the unit. There are also upgraded dual supercharger pulleys. As a result, the Stealth has a top speed of 195mph and reaches 60mph in a mere 3.6 seconds, making it not only the fastest-accelerating SUV Britain has ever produced, but also the most powerful. The Lister Stealth has a number of handmade bodywork enhancements that contribute to the car’s aerodynamic performance and engine cooling, including a redesigned carbon fibre front bumper that features two large air intakes,…

e-pace milestone achievement

The E-PACE has achieved a rare automotive feat after it was ranked highest in its class in two surveys in North America, having established itself there as a unique luxury SUV for discerning customers. Conducted by an industry leader in evaluating vehicle quality, JD Power, the E-PACE was named Top Small Premium SUV in both the 2020 Initial Quality Survey (IQS) and the Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study (APEAL) categories. Importantly, it marks the first time that a Jaguar model has been named top of its respective category in both the IQS and APEAL assessments, representing a milestone achievement for the Jaguar brand. Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America, proudly said, “Given Jaguar is relatively new to offering SUVs, we are thrilled that the E-PACE has…

fia formula e championship

Rounds 6 & 7 – 5-6 August 2020 With a slim chance that Jaguar Racing’s driver Mitch Evans could take the 2019/2020 FIA Formula E Championship, hopes were high when the team headed to Berlin’s Tempelhof circuit for the final six races of the season. Sadly, the Kiwi’s hopes were dashed after a string of bad luck and poor qualifying positions. After starting eighth in the first race, Mitch fought his way to sixth in the middle of the race, conserving his energy and carving through the pack. But, after a late full-course yellow, Andretti Autosport driver Maximilian Guenther clipped the Kiwi’s Jaguar I-TYPE 4 and sent him spinning out of the points, eventually finishing 13th. “The whole day has not gone as we’d liked,” says Evans. “Qualifying felt okay, but that was…
