who’s comin’ with me?

SO, IT’S OFFICIALLY BEEN A YEAR SINCE I’VE TAKEN OVER AS LEAD EDITOR AND BRAND MANAGER FOR BOTH STREET TRUCKS AND C10 BUILDER’S GUIDE. They say time flies when you’re having fun, and the last year has been nothing less than amazing and exciting for this true truck enthusiast. I’ve met a tremendous amount of cool custom truck owners, tons of badass builders and a multitude of extremely intelligent manufacturers over the year, which has subsequently overflowed my inboxes with every form of media possible. The most challenging task that comes with this position is maintaining a steady line of communication in a timely fashion, but I do my best as many of you know firsthand. I could literally spend all day going back and forth over email and private messenger…

Ford Introduces Ranger FX2 Package to Lineup FORD introduced the new Ranger FX2 Package as another choice for customers who want off-road styling and capability in a two-wheel-drive offering. “FX2 expands Ranger’s options for customers who want tough, off-road style with the functionality of a locking differential but don’t need four-wheel drive,” said Brian Bell, Ford Ranger marketing manager. “This is another way our customers can personalize Ranger to match their lifestyle while getting a great value.” Aimed at more urban markets, the FX2 Package rides on 17- or available 18-inch off-road tires to add even tougher styling to two-wheel-drive Ranger. A front underbody guard and air dam-delete provide even more distinction, while shielding the underbody and improving approach angles. Adding to Ranger’s two-wheel-drive capability, the FX2 Package includes an electronic-locking rear differential and…

“HAVING A TRUCK THAT SOUNDS AND DRIVES AS GOOD AS THIS ONE DEMANDS AN AMAZING COAT OF COLOR AND SMOOTHED DOWN CLASSIC BODY PANELS.” BUILDING A TRUCK CAN BE A LOT LIKE GOING TO WAR WITH ALL THE GENERATIONS THAT CAME BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR FINISHED PRODUCT. Hundreds of shops around the country use their skills, minds and available soldiers in their own particular way to wage war with opinionated opposition. Their tools are their weapons and national events are the proving grounds where they battle it out. It’s always nice to bring home a trophy that shows you’re doing mental damage to your competition, but in the case of Ariel Paxon of Stuart, Florida, the ultimate goal is to promote his custom fab shop and continue the dream of doing…

rookie of the year

MANY PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY HAVE THIS BIG, GLAMOROUS PICTURE OF WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BUILD A CUSTOM TRUCK FOR THE SEMA SHOW. As we’ve mentioned before, it’s not exactly a walk in the park or what everyone thinks it is, and it’s a much larger undertaking than many are capable of living up to. But that didn’t scare Jack Frith, owner of Fiction Fab, and Oscar Quinterro away. This insane full-custom K5 Blazer build began back in January 2018 when Oscar reached out to Jack with a digital rendering and asked if they could possibly meet the deadline of SEMA 2018. The two sat down and discussed a game plan to make it happen. On Feb. 1, the K5 was dropped off at Fiction Fab. Now, to anyone who’s…
