hi there!

SEND US YOUR STYLING SNAPS ON INSTAGRAM #SAHSTYLISTS - WE LOVE TO SEE YOUR FAB IDEAS! This month, we’re celebrating JOMO (the joy of missing out) with a binge of cosiness. From the first page to the last, you’ll find everything from warm colours for your walls and squashy cushions for your sofa to lighting for a mellow mood and delicious bakes to try. So, let’s do winter in style! Everyone knows the best place to find ideas for your home (apart from this mag, obvs) is other people’s homes. That’s why you’ll be able to peek inside four beautifully designed properties (from p18) – and that’s not counting Ruth’s kitchen-diner (p90) and Emma’s luxurious bathroom (p96), if you’ve got a big project in mind. If your décor is in a…

NEW HOMEWARE FROM POUNDLAND The new line at Poundland, Pep & Co, was sneakily launched as a high-end brand ‘Lundon Pad’ (an anagram of Poundland), to challenge shoppers’ perceptions and prove you can get the luxe look for less. Now the secret’s out, you can cosy up your home for winter with rich teal tones, faux plants, glam gold accessories and chic tassels. It could be designer! Well hello there handsome! Imagine waking up to this stunner every morning. The Concertina bedside table, £60, Argos, has classic Scandi good looks with sleek, splayed legs and a pale finish. But it’s the slatted sliding doors for the hidden storage that makes it totally on trend. trend spotting rust orange

Nothing epitomises autumn quite like the colour orange – think crisp fallen leaves, warming spices and blazing amber bonfires. So it’s no wonder this cosseting shade has found its way onto homeware as we edge into the new season – lending a cosy feel to everything from upholstery and decorative accessories to wall art and dried floral displays. Pair with cool greys and black accents for a contemporary look.…

the new look boho glamour

1. Display your wares A more-chic version of a tea trolley, the bar cart is the perfect place to show off glassware, a beautiful cocktail shaker or vintage-inspired tea set. Add a posy and light up with a lamp. 2. Clash cushion styles Make it modern chintz – add drama with dark or heritage-inspired florals, fine fringing, velvets, embroideries and bohemian scarf prints. Use a colour palette of decadent purple, gold and teal. 3. Add a glam twist Swap trad finishes like dark or painted wood for luxe velvet and polished brass and mix in accessories with a tropical spin – think palms and leopards alongside classic gilded frames and ceramic knick-knacks. 4. Choose a rug with faded grandeur Short of finding an antique, pick a rug that already has a time-worn finish or has been inspired…

come on in!

ABOUT ME I’m Jill Makepeace, 35, a project support officer for the NHS. I live here with my husband John, 36, who owns a furniture and kitchen worktop business, our daughter, Lily, four, and our baby son Wilfred. OUR HOME A four/five bedroom detached 1950s house in County Durham. We moved here in 2018. WHEN WE MOVED IN It was an ex-rental property so the décor was tired and the ground floor layout just didn’t flow. AND NOW We’ve embraced open-plan living by demolishing the conservatory, knocking the kitchen and dining room together and extending at the rear of the property. The bathroom’s also been completely redesigned.…
