It’s taken me seven months on this new path to have the breakthrough realization that resolutions don’t work. “They’re temporary, which is why you’ve made them each year,” my doctor, Gabrielle Lyon, DO, told me. One of my repeat offenders: “I will lose X pounds in Y days.” Sometimes I’d set an easier target, reach it, then go back to my old habits.
