KELLI ARMSTRONG, Writer Kelli Armstrong started her magazine career in Sydney working for CLEO before taking a position on the launch team of Hello! magazine in Dubai. She returned to Australia to head up OK! magazine’s features department in 2007; a gig that saw her travel the globe interviewing celebrities and scouting exotic locations for photo shoots, which she describes as the “best job ever”. In 2014 wanderlust prevailed and she jet-setted to New York, where she’s now based. Kelli wrote our Aussies in New York story for this issue. DELLA BASS, Photographer The mid-’90s saw Della Bass find her passion for photography while in Japan, where she discovered unending inspiration in the cultural melting pot of its streets. She then moved to Milan, finding kinship with the aesthetic of old French and…

In the middle of a conversation the other day, a guy I had just met leaned in and simply said, “Are you happy?” I love dropping into deep conversations and I also love a bit of forced reflection. This modest question over dinner, delivered from a good place, paved the way for an honest answer. It was a solid “Yes”, but the next day, I reflected on all the pieces and layers of my life again, like I do often, because you have to continually check in on yourself. I wasn’t afraid of the answer, I just saw it as a good opportunity to take stock and apply any course correction before stepping forward boldly with extra gusto. As life gets full, and at times complex, there is nothing better than…

WINNER! This year I signed up for a subscription to Collective Hub and every month I LOVE it when the new copy lands on my desk. One of my favourite parts of the magazine is reading all the inspirational stories, but also I quite often turn the page to find a quote that always speaks to me. It is for this reason I decided to gather a group of my close girlfriends, get a whole pile of magazines and create vision boards together. Of course we had cheese, wine, good music and lots of laughs, but thank you for inspiring me and my friends to dream big! There will be more of these fun nights in the pipeline. Keep the great content coming! Suzy Jordan WIN ME! Keep the comments coming. We love…

IT’S ALL IN THE FROSTING When A-listers like former Collective Hub covergirl Jess Gomes, Margot Robbie and Margaret Zhang don your latest creations, you just know you’re on to a good thing. Since launching in 2014 with a collection carved from wax, F+H jewellery has become a key staple in influencer wardrobes. Founder Sharona Harris, who previously spent 10 years in PR and marketing, was after bolder, edgier jewellery – so she decided to make her own. Incorporating strong textures and sharp designs, F+H has your Saturday night bling covered. fandhjewellery.com EYE SPY They (whoever ‘they’ are) say that eyes are the windows to your soul. But constant screen time and bright lights mean that those windows are often the first to reveal fatigue and get strained. Enter the Aurai eye mask, you…

smooth talking

“I often liken them to bath bombs, only they’ll add a spark to your smoothie, not your bath,” smiles Melbourne-based nutritionist Cinzia Cozzolino, whose Smoothie Bombs have rolled out to cafes and kitchen cabinets across the country. Inspiration struck the time-poor single parent when her two daughters were schlepping to school on empty stomachs – and so came her lightbulb business idea. We get the low down on the hard yards behind her quick fix. HOW DID YOUR HOME RECIPE BECOME A BUSINESS? Seeing the success [of Smoothie Bombs] in our household, my friends who owned cafes asked me to have them on their menus to make it easier for their staff to prepare superfood smoothies. They became really popular and not long after, I decided to develop a retail concept. WHAT’S THE…
