There are some trends we are happy to relegate to the history books: bathroom carpeting, avocado-color appliances, glass-block windows. But there are many more we can’t wait to welcome for a second act. We’re fascinated by how trends from the past are reintroduced in fresh and unexpected ways. One of our favorite examples is the resurgence of florals as a romantic, colorful counterpoint to today’s popular monochromatic schemes. There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about these natureinspired designs, which bring decorative flourish to furniture, lighting, rugs, and dinnerware. When paired with high-contrast, geometric patterns, the results are even more breathtaking. We take a closer look in “Botanicals in Bloom,” page 6.
