1 The harbour creeks attract Shelduck and Little Egret at low tide, plus waders such as Oystercatcher, Curlew, Bar-and Black-tailed Godwits, Dunlin, Sanderling, Ringed and Grey Plovers and Redshank. Weed-strewn rocks can lure Turnstone, Grey Wagtail and Rock Pipit.
2 Check the wood for passage Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Spotted Flycatcher and maybe an early Redstart. Also home to Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Green and Great Spotted Woodpecker, Treecreeper, Goldcrest, Jay, tits, thrushes and finches.
3 Another good viewpoint to scan for wildfowl and waders in the harbour including Dunlin, Sanderling, Knot and Ringed Plover. Search for terns, such as Common, Little and Sandwich, plus hirundines and Swifts on the move and at low tide gulls and terns on sandbars.
