BEEF PRICES MIXED
International: New Zealand steers traded 1,39% lower at NZ$5,22/kg, while cows traded 0,05% lower at NZ$3,81/kg. US prices were mostly higher: topside was 0,67% higher at US$183,81/cwt, rump was 1,55% lower at US$217,56/cwt, strip loin was 1,53% higher at US$381,06/cwt, chuck was 0,03% higher at US$198,63/cwt and brisket was 0,40% higher at US$196,40/cwt. The carcass price was 0,54% higher at US$230,91/cwt. Total meat production in the US increased month-on-month as beef production forecasts for the fourth quarter were higher than the anticipated production of poultry and pork. Slaughter rates have also increased.
Domestic: Local prices were higher. Class A was 0,21% higher at R37,78/kg, while Class C was 0,09% higher at R32,73/kg. The weaner price was 0,83% higher at R21,01/kg, and the hide price was 0,66%…
