It’s understandable if you have superhero fatigue from the likes of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and more – and that’s just the ones on television. However, cult favourite The Tick is a different breed of hero – and this new adaptation of his story pokes fun at comic-book clichés, while still delivering lots of action and having plenty of heart.
“Previous adaptations of The Tick have been more just satire and functioning on a pure parody level,” reveals Griffin Newman, who stars as The Tick’s partner in crime-fighting, Arthur Earnest. “This one will hopefully marry that sense of humour with a little more weight – not self-serious, but more emotionally rich.”
