It’s set in a magical world with beloved artwork and Nordic mythology running through its veins. The creators have named the key differences between this and Dragonbane as, “new kin, new professions, new heroic abilities, and – last but not least – lots of new magic,” alongside some changes to travel rules and character creation. The Kickstarter reached its base goal in just four minutes. It’s been a busy period for me, as you’ll see on page 16 of this magazine. I had a lovely time in Doncaster for Tabletop Gaming Live: helping out the team, playing some new games and taking the Tabletop Scotland quiz on the road for the first time. I didn’t see many indie RPGs as I stalked the stalls, but I’ve scoured the web for the weird and wonderful coming out later in the year that may need your help in getting made. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, not Christmas. It’s Zine Quest! I am not going to attempt to define the zine culture here, as that would be a disservice to the thousands of folk who make them. Safe to say they tend to be short form (zine is, of course, shortened from magazine) and have a homemade, but not necessarily aesthetic, philosophy behind them. It is a format that has been embraced by the TTRPG community and once a year there is Zine Quest, a celebration accompanied by launches of games and crowdfunders.
