Diane Schultz – Designer and CEO “I’m passionate about being creative and eager to make it possible for others to find their creative voice. My background includes stints as a designer for McCalls, Simplicity, Vogue/ Butterick, Mattel Toy Company, which in some way led me what I do now. At 45 I went back to school and got my degree in graphic design – I named the company to celebrate that achievement.” Aimee Filimoehala – Director of Operations “I wear a lot of hats – business, marketing, operations, etc. and they’ve made me a pro at multitasking. welcome

At the time of writing this Ed’s letter, it’s just after the holidays and the year is kicking off. Our Masters and Creative Team have already been hard at work producing some fabulous layouts for upcoming issues and I sense there’s renewed energy amongst our contributors. I love seeing that! I have to admit I wasn’t overly crafty over the holidays, unless you count all the time I spent colouring in with my STAEDTLER triplus fineliners as productive! Heather McMahon continues her look at the importance of art journaling – I’d love to hear from all of you about how you use yours, or if you’ve started one and the ways it’s inspired…

behind the scenes

This issue’s cover is Thankful by Kerrie Tuni. Materials: Paper – Maggie Holmes, American Crafts; Embellishments – Bazill, Prima Marketing Inc flowers, Maggie Holmes and Spellbinders Foliage die, watercolour paint, doily, brads, glitter Ed’s note: This layout is so bright and colourful, it really shows Kerrie’s personality. The flower embellishments are absolutely beautiful and complement the photo nicely. The application of the water colour paint is perfect, and really brings all the pieces of this layout together. YOU TELL US… We’d love to hear what you’d like to see in future issues of Scrapbooking Memories! Is it a specific technique, a gallery theme, a Q&A with upcoming artists, brand spotlights, events calendars or something else? Is there a feature you can never get enough of, or a layout you really loved? We’re keen to…
