I am sitting down to write this the day after Boris told us that the Covid restrictions would remain in place for a further four weeks. It was the news that we had been expecting for a while, but sadly, it means that Camper Jam, which is way too large to take place within the guidelines, will have to be postponed for another twelve months. However, plans were already in place for an alternative event, so Camper Site Plus will take its place on the original date. It’s not going to be anything like the scale of Camper Jam, it’s going to be more like a local show, but bought to you by the team behind Camper Jam. Who knows you might even be reading this from Weston Park right…

Multivan Unveiled Caravelle Replacement After months of teases and glimpses VW have finally released pictures of the new Multivan. Let’s be clear here this is not the new T7, this is a direct replacement for the Caravelle as VW realigns their model branding. No longer built on the Transporter platform, the all-new model will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. The Multivan has been given a new (ish) name in the UK to reflect the complete overhaul of its predecessor while still providing the same versatility to the Caravelle customer. In VW Speak it “provides customers with up to seven seats and the perfect combination of practicality, comfort and safety for whatever their needs: from chauffeuring the daily school run to holiday adventures.” The new generation of Multivan has a longer…

Blame it on the Hen Party. Now I always thought the rule was, what happened on Hen and Stag parties stayed on the party? It’s certainly the case on the Stag parties I’ve been on—especially the two I’ve arranged—but that’s another story and not suitable for a family magazine! However, it seems that rule might not apply to the ladies—well it certainly didn’t in this case. The story really starts some thirty years earlier when Sian and Leigh first met—when they were in their 20s—they discussed buying a camper, because it would have suited their lifestyle at the time. However, for one reason or another they just never got around to it. Then fast forward to a Hen Party in 2015 which Sian was attending. “One of my friends actually had a…

We all know that the Volkswagen scene goes hand in hand with cycling. The trusty Volkswagen is the vehicle of choice for cycling brands, sales reps and race teams pretty much worldwide. There are dedicated Facebook groups to connect like-minded Transporter and ‘Bike Mad’ enthusiasts, a good example of this is “VW Transporter Bikers” with a 3.3k follow. VW shows are littered with people cruising around on bikes that they have had lovingly painted to match their show winning vans. Bike events, races and trail centre carparks are normally rammed with our favourite van brand, just proving that this really is a match made in heaven. Now if you know me or follow me on Instagram (@jimbo_hart) you will know that my two favourite things in life, taking beer out of…

#vanlife

Lewis Fletcher was a mountain biking nut, competing at a decent level, eating sleeping and dreaming about mountain biking 24/7. His life revolved around two wheels and for a long time his focus was all about getting his fix from that next downhill rush. That is until one day he came an unfortunate cropper on a family trip to Wales, in fact I may be playing that down slightly. What he did was come off his bike and broke both of his shoulders, putting him out of serious biking action for some while, not to mention the pain and inconvenience of getting to hospital from deep in the welsh mountains etc. This then was a bit of a game changer for Lewis and the amount of time off recuperating that was…
