the one with all the food

PS We’re launching a brand-new fitness series, Chase The Sun… An early morning triple workout in a beautiful location. Our launch edition is at Val de Vie Estate on Saturday 11 May 2019. Tickets are available at Quicket.co.za. In December 2018 we went to visit a friend in Botswana and I was so afraid to pick up weight from all the festive activities... And tequilas! To my surprise, when we arrived, my friend told me that she was going to be eating healthily in December as well as keeping up her normal exercise routine. This inspired me so much because immediately I thought it would be amazing to support her. And who wants…

ask us anything

What’s better: trying to do full push-ups on my toes or nailing push-ups on my knees? ANSWER Glad you asked. While it can feel like a cop-out to stay on your knees when everyone else is casually busting out 20 on their toes, this modified version is hardly the easy option. In fact, if it feels that way, you’re probably not doing it right. “Getting the full range of motion in a push-up is extremely important because if you don’t, you won’t be working the muscles to their fullest potential,” explains fitness instructor Rikki-lee Petrie. Translation: drop that chest to the floor! Once you’ve nailed the technique on your knees, start adding in one or two push-ups on your toes in each set, concentrating again on…
