let’s plant the future

One tree planted for every new Peppermint subscription. That’s why we’ve partnered with non-profit environmental charity One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every Peppermint subscription sold. Because although the problems our world faces may seem overwhelming, we know we can work together to create real, lasting change – one tiny seedling at a time. Now, when you take out a subscription, you’ll be helping to plant trees in vulnerable communities around the world, including North America, Indonesia, the Amazon rainforest and Australia. The simple act of planting trees helps to restore biodiversity, support reforestation, protect endangered wildlife, provide sustainable jobs and income and, crucially, store carbon from the atmosphere in a bid to prevent global temperatures rising beyond a dangerous level. Thanks for being part of our family tree! SUBSCRIBE…

I feel like I’m trying to write this from the top of a rollercoaster; suspended in that moment where, after you’ve been violently hurtled through unknown twists and turns, there’s a sudden feeling of relief and anticipation as the rickety car slows down and time stands still before plunging into the last part of the ride. What will it hold? There have been laughs and tears and smiles and screams of ‘get-me-the-heck-off’ along the way… is the final stretch easier because we now know what to expect? The only given, at this point, is that we’re all strapped in together and the only way out is forward. And what a ride it’s been. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our world in a way we have never seen in our lifetime and…

What is Prints for Wildlife about? The concept is simple: I visit wildlife-sanctuaries when I have time in between shoots, take a portrait of one animal in care, and 100% of profits from each sale of that fine art print goes directly back to the wildlife sanctuary. Why wildlife and why now? Before I was a photographer, I was an environmental scientist for almost a decade, so my love for animals goes way back. COVID-19 will pass, but our native animals are always under threat – the animals in care are there (almost always) due to human intervention in some way. Although money is very tight for a lot of Australians, and artwork might not be key to survival, sanctuaries need money more than ever. I’m hopeful people will support it on the…

market spotlight: the finders keepers

How has COVID-19 affected the markets? In our 12 years of running 64 events, we’ve never had to cancel an event let alone an entire season. So the impact could not have been bigger! How has The Finders Keepers community been staying positive through this? Our stallholder community has been unwaveringly supportive. The crisis has really shown us that people believe in our vision, and we know how important our mission is to support the creative and small business community in Australia. We’ve been witness to some beautiful acts of kindness, great and small, which are making us buoyant in these challenging times. And you have a new online marketplace? Yes! It’s an exciting expansion and evolution to the successful markets that have been running (and growing) for more than a decade. It’s definitely been…
