STEP ONE: PLAN YOUR TUNNEL The first thing to do when building an underground railway is to decide which two points you’re trying to connect, then tunnel between them. Make sure you don’t dig down too deep otherwise it’ll be inconvenient to get to, but you also need to make sure it won’t intersect with any bodies of water or natural dips in the landscape. Around 10-15 blocks under the surface at sea level should be fine, as long as you aren’t trying to cross beneath a sea! If you can, connect your two stops in a direct line. Minecraft’s geometry means that going diagonally is difficult so while you can add corners, make the path as straight as possible, even if that means travelling a small distance away from the planned end…

ACCESS The Nether is only accessible through portals built in the Overworld – you can’t get there directly from the End. Portals can be built from scratch using obsidian or activated by repairing a ruined portal found in the Overworld, but they are the only way into the dimension. You can get out of the Nether using the same portal you arrived by, or by building a new one, or by repairing a ruined portal found in the Nether. NETHER STATS Unlike the Overworld, which is 320 blocks high, the Nether is only 128 blocks high and is encased in bedrock at the top and bottom to ensure you can’t break out! WHAT IS A SUPER-CREEPER? The super-creeper is a charged creeper that has an incredible explosive power – big enough to shatter the very land it explodes on. This mob will never appear naturally in the game, but by using the command we’ve set out, you can summon one however and whenever you like. And if that sounds like a bad idea, wait until you’ve seen the explosion! WHAT YOU NEED To summon a super-creeper, the following things need to be true: You must be using Java Edition. Sorry, this doesn’t work in Bedrock and we don’t know if it ever will! Cheats to be enabled in your world. If they aren’t, then you won’t be able to summon a mob! While we’ve already been looking ahead to Minecraft version 1.20, which adds cool new stuff such as bamboo and camels, it’s worth noting that there was another update released just before Christmas! That’s right – version 1.19.3 has been released to fix some stuff and set the groundwork for all the updates coming in version 1.20 – so what can you see in your game right now? SPAWN EGGS You can now use commands to give yourself spawn eggs for iron and snow golems, the wither, and the ender dragon – though those latter two are only available using commands so as to avoid destroying parts of your world. COLLECTING SADDLES Saddles are uncraftable, so there’s no way to make your own. Luckily, there are TONS of ways to collect them! For a start, they generate as loot – there’s a chance of finding them in any chest found in a dungeon, ancient city, bastion remnant (hoglin stables), desert temple, End city, jungle temple, Nether fortress, stronghold altar, weaponsmith, savanna house, of leatherworker chest. You can also collect them as treasure when fishing, or buy them from a Master-level leatherworker villager. Mobs with a saddle equipped will always drop it when they die – this applies to ravagers which generate with a saddle on as part of a village raid, and striders which spawn being ridden by a zombified piglin.
