Impress your friends with this clever design – on first glance it looks like an envelope, but open it up and you’ll soon discover it’s a card that’s full of exciting surprises! It’s easy to create the basic envelope shape following the steps on page 10 – the instructions can be adapted to change the dimensions so you can easily make different-sized cards. Kat’s cards are ideal for adding interactive elements, like pockets, removable tags, mini envelopes and even shakers, so you can vary the surprises inside. Janice Whymark Q What did you think about this project? A This style of card is very adaptable for all occasions, and can be made square, or oblong like Sally’s card! I chose to make a square birthday card, with a pocket from two lacy corners. I made a coordinating envelope for the centre, to hide a gift of money. This would be a great idea for a wedding card!
