When Michelle Clark saw a homeless man and his dog camped outside her local supermarket, she wanted to help. She returned with blankets and dog food, and although the owner was thrilled, she knew more needed to be done to assist homeless people and their pets.
Michelle, 50, says, “I was worried about the dog’s health and wondered when he’d last been seen by a vet.”
So, soon after, Michelle, who owned a pet accessories and supplies business, began to aid more animals who are sleeping rough with their owners.
And in 2017, she set up her own charity, Dogs on the Streets (DOTS), which helps provide veterinary care to dogs with homeless owners, as well as essentials such as food, coats, leads and collars.
