Hello, and welcome to an unashamedly festive edition of your fave quilting magazine! I'm thrilled to be joining the team as Acting Editor for a few months while the lovely Alice is on maternity leave, and can't wait to share some of the amazing quilts that we have coming up with you. As a life-long crafter, I love Christmas and the abundance of opportunities it brings to lavish our friends, family and houses with homespun goodness. I'm also a big fan of getting a head start, which is why this issue is packed with seasonal stitching to keep you (and your sewing machines) buzzing all winter long, from cosy cabin quilts and Scandi patchwork to improv décor and stylish gifts. Enjoy! Join us online... we love to share! LovePatchworkandQuilting LoveQuiltingMag LoveQuiltingMag www.lovepatchworkandquilting.com…

UNDERSTANDING YOUR TEMPLATES Each set of templates is comprised of a triangle and trapezoid. The smaller set will create a 4in finished square, and the larger set will create an 8in finished square. Each block consists of four rounds, with an inner and outer set of triangles around a central square (Fig 1). CUTTING OUT 1 Choose one set of templates for either the large or small block, and cut strips of fabric to the required width. You will need 1in wide strips for the small block and 1½in wide strips for the large block. 2 Use the trapezoid template to cut the strips. To cut pieces for rounds 1 and 2, align the top edge of the trapezoid with one long edge of the strip. Use your rotary cutter to trim both edges.…
