fairmont scottsdale princess

C onsidered the ultimate oasis in the desert, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is more than a world-class resort. Yes, it has award-winning restaurants, an innovative wellness program and spa, and two championship golf courses. But the iconic Scottsdale resort is also a place where families can create memories of a lifetime. “The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is a wonderful place to create family memories,” says Jack Miller, Regional Vice President, Central U.S. Region, and General Manager of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. “Whether you’re here for a summer staycation or a holiday celebration, the resort is family friendly. We have activities for all ages and restaurants that encourage families to dine together. Our upcoming Christmas at the Princess—complete with train, carousel and ice skating rink—transforms the resort into a magical holiday destination for…

valley toyota dealers association

Founded in 1989, Valley Toyota Dealers consists of 10 Toyota dealers in the metropolitan Phoenix area, including AutoNation Toyota Tempe, Avondale, Bell Road, Big Two, Camelback, Earnhardt, Larry Miller, Right, Riverview and Toyota of Surprise. To say the dealers—and all the people who work for them—know a thing or two about cars is an understatement. All 10 dealerships are committed to providing their customers with the utmost expertise, knowledge and customer service available in the industry today. But beyond the shiny new cars, the sparkling showrooms and the service centers that run like a well-oiled machine is a true sense of community. “Seven years ago, when I became president of the Valley Toyota Dealers for the second time, I wanted to focus our attention on making an impact in the community,” says John…

out of bounds

A t MASK The Magazine, our goal is to shed light on the trends and behaviors affecting today’s families and youth. Knowing these issues can help us all continue to learn, reflect and adjust what we can do to help our children grow into the best versions of themselves. Most times, it requires us as parents to look straight in the mirror and acknowledge the change begins with us. When it comes to sportsmanship, my view is from the bleachers, seats and sidelines of every game, tournament and competition my children have participated in. Admittedly, I myself have gotten caught up in the drama, in the dysfunction of organized sports. Being a protective parent, I’ve been upset at referees, coaches and even other parents. I’ve endured the frustration that comes with…

stocking a nitrate-free kitchen

N itrates are common preservatives that convert to nitrosamines in the body, which may potentially cause cancer. Avoiding nitrates isn’t hard if you learn which protein sources are nitrate-free. Here are my 10 favorites to keep on hand for meals and snacks: + Hummus – This ubiquitous garbanzo bean snack is delicious as a dip with veggies and crackers. + Canned refried beans – This versatile protein is perfect in burritos and as nachos on baked chips + Rotisserie chicken – One night it’s dinner, the next day it’s chicken salad. A busy kitchen shouldn’t be without this protein gem. + Nut butters – Cashew, almond, hazelnut, peanut—there are many options in this category to serve on sandwiches, enjoy with fruit, or add to a smoothie. + Fish packets – Many brands of packaged tuna…
